  • Psychotherapy is a type of treatment where you talk to a trained professional, called a therapist, about your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. The therapist listens, helps you understand your experiences, and provides support and guidance. The goal is to help you manage your emotions, improve your relationships, and cope better with life's challenges. Some benefits of psychotherapy include:

    • Feeling less alone

    • Gaining a new perspective on problems

    • Learning new skills

    • Feeling more in control of your life

  • The frequency of sessions is unique to every client and their needs.

  • First step is for you and your therapist to establish a connection and identify your needs and goals. Then your therapist will create a unique plan that best suits you.

  • Phone psychotherapy is convenient and accessible, and it can provide anonymity, making it easier for some people to talk about their problems.

  • Virtual psychotherapy is convenient, accessible, and can provide a sense of privacy and anonymity. It is particularly useful for those who may have difficulty attending in-person sessions or have busy schedules.

  • Virtual services have been shown to be just as effective as in-person therapy for some mental health conditions.

  • Licensed therapists providing online therapy must adhere to the same confidentiality and mandated reporting requirements as they would in an in-office setting, as mandated by their governing board and state laws. In most cases, the information you share with your therapist will be kept confidential, but there are certain situations where the therapist is legally obligated to report it, such as if you pose a threat of serious harm to yourself or someone else. Prior to beginning therapy, it is recommended that you discuss any concerns or questions you may have with your therapist regarding their legal obligations to confidentiality.
